What is X-frame

X-frame is the perfect solution for machine frames that must meet individual requirements. We have been planning, designing and assembling machine frames from the häwa-designed and patented X-frame modular system since 2008.

Over the years, we have developed unparalleled manufacturing expertise. The continuous integration of designs that have proven themselves in practical customer applications has allowed us to develop X-frame, a machine frame that can be expanded as required and customized to meet individual customer requirements. The X-frame struts

X-frame struts are available for various loads. The horizontal and vertical frame struts are manufactured in different strengths. Thanks to their modular design, they can be easily connected to one another. The cable routing runs in the horizontal and vertical struts (for the light struts, access to the cable area is on the inside of the system). Custom dimensions can be realized at any time. This means that we have the perfect strut in every area of the frame and can avoid oversizing.

With their smaller cross-section, the specially developed X-frame Light struts allow a maximum access width on narrow systems.

X-frame braces are used for systems with weight loads of up to 1 ton. A special feature here is our vertical 90° corner braces. They are folded 13 times for maximum load.

We use our Pro-X struts made of 3 mm sheet steel to build machine frames for higher loads.

We have developed special robot struts for highly dynamic applications. With wall thicknesses of up to 13 mm, these can also withstand high torques and guarantee a high level of picking accuracy. We provide FEM calculations as proof of the quality of the systems.

For special requirements in terms of precision in an X-frame machine, häwa manufactures welding frames with the highest precision. Tube cross sections are adjusted and the frames can be annealed to prevent subsequent deformation. Milling in flat bed or portal milling machines and coating with the desired surface finish ensure a perfect result.

UL-certified machine frames

UL is one of the most important independent organizations worldwide for the testing and certification of materials, components and end products in the area of product safety. All products exported to the USA and Canada, especially machine frames, should be certified. The certification process according to North American standards for electro-technical products simplifies market entry.

The patented X-frame machine frames are available with UL certification, simplifying acceptance and start-up. Customers in the USA and Canada can rest assured that they are not taking any risks with häwa products.

FEM calculation

We perform FEM calculations for systems with high static and dynamic requirements.

The finite element method (FEM) is a numerical method that visually represents all mechanical properties. This can be used to verify the stability, picking accuracy and quality of the system. Thanks to FEM calculations, targeted optimization measures can be taken and designs can be adapted at an early stage to prevent time-consuming and costly rework.
