Sensor-operated LED lights from häwa provide indispensable services at Zippe

Wain, August 5, 2024. häwa GmbH has hit the bull's eye with the SOL 704 sensor-operated LED light. Introduced last year, the lights are now providing indispensable services in countless control cabinets. Zippe Industrieanlagen was one of the first customers to use the new light in large numbers - and is delighted with its functionality.

Zippe Industrieanlagen GmbH from Wertheim is the world's leading company in the field of batch and cullet plants for the international glass industry. Zippe is also a specialist in weighing system solutions. Through focusing and specialization, Zippe has acquired extensive expertise and a wealth of experience. With six subsidiaries and 16 agencies worldwide, the company is represented in all major glass industry markets. Each project presents the experts with new challenges – no two technical solutions are the same.

Thanks to its many years of experience, Zippe is able to meet special requirements competently and reliably. As a central control system for all products, control cabinet solutions that are precisely tailored to requirements are indispensable. Perfect illumination of the control cabinets is particularly important. And this is where häwa GmbH comes into play, with whom Zippe has been successfully cooperating for decades.

Years of fruitful cooperation
For more than 20 years, häwa has been the standard supplier of modular cabinets for Zippe. Through years of trusting cooperation, häwa is always the first to approach Zippe with newly developed products, based on the customer's requirements. The new LED light was also initially sent to Zippe as a sample, where it was put through its paces and ultimately evaluated as the optimal solution. Since then, the light has been installed in every control cabinet delivered in all areas, such as weighing system solutions, batch plants, cullet returns and charging technology at the melting tanks.

Optimal control cabinet lighting
Optimal lighting is important to create a safe and functional work environment in the control cabinet. Lighting must function reliably; technicians on site depend on it, especially when a system is malfunctioning or down. häwa's sensor-operated LED light SOL 704 is the optimal solution. The LED light is perfectly suited for the illumination of control cabinets and fits häwa floor standing cabinets and other manufacturers' cabinets with 25 mm grid perforation, 600 mm or greater width. The pre-set proximity sensor is activated immediately upon installation and turns on the light when the door is opened and closed, and turns it off after a five second delay. Using the potential-free contact of the opener and closer, it is possible to connect other devices or components such as cooling units, filter fans and signal towers to the sensor-operated LED light. This eliminates the need for an additional door contact switch and minimizes the wiring effort. The on/off function is controlled via the light's sensor. As soon as it is connected, it also switches the applications when the door is opened and closed.

Up to ten lights can be connected in series. This makes the product particularly user-friendly, as large control cabinet interiors are illuminated homogeneously and evenly. Particularly in the case of bayed cabinets, as in the case of Zippe Industrieanlagen, use is significantly simplified. The luminaire, which has an IP 20 protection rating, is available in two voltages: 24 V DC or 120 V – 230 V AC; the AC versions can be optionally equipped with a socket. The power consumption is between 12 and 16 watts. Thanks to the use of LED technology, the luminaires have a very long service life. They can be mounted either by screwing or magnetically.
